After four years of study, years in practice, and hands-on experience managing dispensing and warehouse operations in a large naturopathic clinic, one thing became clear: dispensing needed to be simpler.

This business was created from a genuine desire to support fellow practitioners — removing the time pressure, complexity, and cost associated with running a dispensary, while maintaining high clinical standards and care.

How does pricing and markup work?

We operate on a wholesale-to-practitioner model. You purchase products from us at wholesale pricing and invoice your clients separately at a price you choose. This gives you full control over your margins and how products fit into your practice.

Many practitioners choose to work with a markup of around 45%, but this is just a guideline — you can price products in a way that works best for your practice.

For supplements, we show a recommended retail price on our website as a helpful reference. You can use this, adjust it, or set your own pricing structure.

We never include pricing or receipts in client orders, so your wholesale costs remain private.

Are all herb brands the same?

No — and that’s why we provide choice.

Different herbal brands vary in sourcing, extraction methods, and potency ratios. Where relevant, this information is clearly listed so you can select the formulation that best aligns with your clinical approach.

Do you ship orders directly to my client?

Yes. We can ship orders straight to your client or to your practice.

Parcels are unbranded, so your clients see the prescription as coming directly from you and your practice — not from a third party. You remain the practitioner they trust; we simply manage preparation and delivery.

Who writes the dosing instructions?

You do.

You supply the dosage, timing, and any instructions needed (for example, with or without food, mixed in water or juice). We apply these details clearly and accurately to each label so your clients receive professional, easy-to-follow guidance that reflects your standards of care.

How quickly are orders prepared and sent?

Orders placed before 12pm (AEST) are prepared and dispatched the same business day.

Orders submitted after this time, or on weekends and public holidays, are prepared the next business day. If something is urgent, let us know — we’ll always do our best to prioritise.

Can I just send a treatment plan instead of building an order?

Yes — and this is one of our key points of difference.

If you’re short on time, simply upload a screenshot, treatment plan, or written notes to your Dropbox, and we’ll handle the rest.

This option is ideal for busy practitioners who don’t want to spend time building carts, calculating volumes, or navigating systems.

Simply upload it, and we’ll take care of the dispensing.

What if my notes aren’t neat or structured?

That’s absolutely fine, your prescription notes don't have to be perfectly structured — this service is designed for real clinical life.

As long as we have:

  • The herbs or products prescribed
  • Amounts or volumes
  • Dosing instructions
  • Client delivery details

We can prepare the order. Prescriptions can be typed, handwritten, photographed, or sent as screenshots. Precision matters clinically — formatting does not.

How do payments work?

The practitioner handles payment; clients are never billed directly by us.

We accept credit card, bank transfer, and PayID.

Using PayID
PayID allows you to place an order without paying immediately, which is helpful if you invoice your client first.

  • Pay when ready

Once payment clears, we dispatch. This gives flexibility without delaying your client’s care.

Do you ship outside Australia?

Yes, international shipping is available.

Because regulations vary by country, we ask that you email us before placing an international order so we can confirm shipping options and ensure the destination allows herbal products.

Who prepares my orders?

Dispensary & Co. is built by naturopaths, for naturopaths.

All orders are prepared and overseen by a qualified naturopath with years of clinical experience and hands-on dispensing and warehouse expertise. Care, accuracy, and professionalism are central to everything we do.

Can I include extra items in my client’s parcel?

Yes. You’re welcome to include additional materials such as:

  • Practice notes
  • Educational handouts
  • Branded inserts
  • Your own labels

What if you don’t stock something I prescribe?

Let us know. Our range is shaped by practitioner needs, and we regularly source products on request. If something is missing, we’ll do our best to make it available.

Do you support new graduates or early-career practitioners?

Yes — very much so.

You’re never expected to “just know” everything.

Can students open an account?

Yes.

Final-year naturopathy or herbal medicine students can open an account by submitting proof of enrolment or clinical placement. Orders are intended for personal, family, or educational use only.
